Muktinath is a highly revered pilgrimage site located in the Mustang district of Nepal. It holds religious significance for both Hindus and Buddhists and is visited by thousands of devotees every year.

Muktinath temple is workshiped by both Hindus and Buddhist. According to Hinduism this is the place where Lord Vishnu got salvation from the curse of Brinda.

Here's a short overview of the Muktinath trip:

  1. Location: Muktinath is situated at an altitude of 3,800 meters (12,467 feet) in the Mustang region of Nepal. It is nestled in the magnificent Himalayas, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

  2. Religious Significance: Muktinath is considered a sacred place for Hindus as it is believed to be one of the 108 Divya Desams (holy shrines) dedicated to Lord Vishnu. For Buddhists, it is an important place of pilgrimage associated with Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava).

  3. Journey: The trip to Muktinath typically begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, followed by a scenic drive to Jomsom, which is the gateway to Muktinath. From Jomsom, you can either trek for about 2-3 days or take a jeep ride to reach Muktinath.

  4. Temple Complex: The main attraction in Muktinath is the Muktinath Temple, a sacred shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple complex also includes 108 water spouts, known as "Muktidhara," where freezing water flows continuously. It is believed that taking a bath in these spouts cleanses sins and brings salvation.

  5. Kunda and Jwala Mai Temple: Within the temple complex, there is a holy water pond called "Kunda," where devotees take a dip before entering the main temple. Adjacent to the Kunda, there is the Jwala Mai Temple, which has a natural gas flame burning continuously. The flame is considered a manifestation of the eternal flame of Brahma.

  6. Scenic Beauty: The journey to Muktinath offers spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, deep gorges, and the unique landscapes of the Mustang region. The surrounding area is known for its barren yet captivating terrain, which adds to the allure of the trip.

  8. Nearby Attractions: If time permits, you can explore other attractions in the Mustang region, such as the ancient walled city of Lo Manthang, the apple orchards of Marpha, Dumba lake, Thorongla pass, Marpha village, and the Kagbeni village, which lies on the famous Annapurna Circuit trek.

Muktinath Darshan yatra can be done by Joining group or private group or solo. If you want to join group the trip the large group is departed on Bus, the small size and deluxe group are departed on scorpio jeep, private group and solo can choose their desired vehicle.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu.

Arrive to Kathmandu, our driver will pick you from airport. Drive to hotel and overnight.

Day 2 : Kathmandu to Pokhara.

Early this morning, we will embark on an exciting journey to Pokhara, surrounded by the picturesque beauty of the Trishuli River. The scenic road trip promises breathtaking views and memorable moments along the way.

By approximately 2 PM, we will arrive in Pokhara, where you can unwind and refresh at the hotel. As the evening sets in, we'll head to the enchanting Fewa Lake, where you can indulge in a delightful boat ride to the revered Taal Barahi Temple. The serene surroundings and the temple's spiritual aura offer a truly magical experience.

After the boat ride, we'll return to the comfort of our hotel for an overnight stay, allowing you to rejuvenate and prepare for more exciting adventures that await us on this incredible journey.

Day 3 : Pokhara to Jomsom.

Drive to Jomsom and overnight at hotel. Visit Marpha village, dhumba lake

Today our journey begains from Pokhara, we will drive through beautiful villages, hills. Drive through Kaligandaki river and pass Kushma, Baglung, Beni, Tatopani, Lete, Marfa and will reach Jomsom.

Our destination for the day is Jomsom, a place renowned for its natural splendor and cultural significance. Upon reaching Jomsom, we'll check into our hotel to rest and relax.

If time permits, we'll embark on an exploration of the charming Marpha village. This traditional village exudes an authentic Himalayan ambiance, with its narrow alleys, white-washed houses, and apple orchards. Afterward, we'll take a scenic drive to Dhumba Lake, located near Marpha village. The serenity of the lake and the surrounding vistas provide the perfect backdrop for a tranquil escape

Return to Jomsom and overnight at hotel.

Day 4 : Visit Muktinath Temple and return back to Pokhara.

An exhilarating day awaits us as we begin our journey early in the morning, heading towards the mystical village of Kagbeni. The scenic drive will take us through mesmerizing landscapes and charming villages, offering glimpses of the unique culture and traditions of the region. Upon arrival in Kagbeni, we will take a moment to explore its beauty and have a delightful breakfast to energize ourselves for the rest of the day.

Next on our itinerary is the revered Muktinath Temple. As vehicles cannot reach the temple directly, we will park our vehicle in Muktinath village and continue our spiritual journey on foot. The walk to the temple adds a touch of adventure and tranquility to the experience, as we absorb the surrounding natural beauty and immerse ourselves in the spiritual atmosphere.

Upon reaching Muktinath Temple, we will engage in heartfelt worship and spend some time in quiet reflection. The temple's spiritual significance and serene setting create an atmosphere of peace and enlightenment.

After our soulful visit, we will make our way back to Muktinath village, where we'll savor a delicious lunch. With our spirits nourished, we'll commence the return journey to the enchanting city of Pokhara.

After lunch we will drive back to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 : Pokhara Exploration Day.

Today we have one full day to visit Pokhara city of tourist dream. You can choose activities like Paragliding, Bunjee Jumping, Cable car ride to sarangkot, Hot Air Ballon flying, Zypflyer, Ultra light flyer etc in Pokhara if you love adventure.

If you don't want to join adventure no worries we will explore various touristic places like Davis fall, Gupteshowr cave, Peace Stupa, Mahadev Statue (Pumdikot), Lake side.

Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 : Return to Kathmandu or your Location.

Early in the Morning after breakfast we will drive back to Kathmandu or the destination you choose.
